Marin rates and typical move costs
| Crew | Hourly rate |
|---|---|
| 2 movers | $145 per hour |
| 3 movers | $175 per hour |
| 4 movers | $235 per hour |
Same rate every day of the week. 3-hour minimum, then billed in 15-minute increments, plus any packing materials used. Double drive time applies when pickup and drop-off are more than 10 minutes apart, per California rules.
Typical Marin County move by home size
The hourly rate alone says little about the total, so we sorted our latest local moves by home size and turned the billed hours into the cost ranges below. Your home may land outside these numbers; the total for a Marin County move is always the hours used times the crew rate.
| Home size | Crew | Typical hours | Typical cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Studio | 3 movers, $175/hr | 3.5 to 4 hours | $613 to $700 |
| 1 bedroom | 3 movers, $175/hr | 3 to 4.5 hours | $525 to $788 |
| 2 bedrooms | 3 movers, $175/hr | 4.5 to 7.75 hours | $788 to $1,356 |
| 3 bedrooms, under about 1,800 sq ft | 3 movers, $175/hr | 7 to 12.5 hours | $1,225 to $2,188 |
| 3 bedrooms over about 1,800 sq ft, or 4+ bedrooms | 4 movers, $235/hr | 7 to 12.5 hours | $1,645 to $2,938 |
Source: final invoices on our own local moves for direct customers, July to October 2026, middle half of each size group, not counting account or partner-billed jobs or jobs where we packed the whole home. Materials are billed as used; minimum 3 hours, then 15-minute increments.
When the truck has to park away from the door on a steep or narrow Marin street, the crew carries farther, and that longer carry adds to the hours shown here.
North of the Golden Gate
Our Marin pages run up Highway 101 from Sausalito to Novato, with separate pages for the Tiburon Peninsula and for the Ross Valley towns along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard: Greenbrae, Kentfield, Ross, San Anselmo and Fairfax. Each town page covers its own streets, housing and access, so start with the one where you live now.
Small streets, tight access
Many Marin streets are narrow and steep, Belvedere Island among them, and a full-size 26-foot truck cannot always reach the door. Send us the address before move day: David checks the street, the slope and the path to the door and tells you whether a shuttle is needed. A shuttle adds a truck rental and labor, so it is decided up front.
Questions and answers
- Will a full-size truck fit on my street?
Send us the address. David checks the access and tells you before move day whether a shuttle is needed.
- Do you provide a certificate of insurance for my building or HOA?
Yes, at no charge. We need the HOA name, mailing address and email.
- Do you give video estimates?
No. We come out for a free on-site estimate.
