A small town of large lots, old trees and quiet lanes in the middle of the Ross Valley. We plan a Ross move around the driveway, the gate and the width of the road before the truck leaves the yard.
Call toll free1-877-417-6060Ross is one of the smallest towns in Marin County, tucked into the Ross Valley between San Anselmo to the north and Kentfield to the east and south. Sir Francis Drake Boulevard runs along its eastern side, and Corte Madera Creek winds through town on its way toward the bay. The whole town uses ZIP 94957.
Away from the boulevard, Ross is almost entirely homes: big properties shaded by oaks and redwoods, set back from narrow lanes that climb toward the open hills of the Mount Tamalpais watershed. There is no freeway in town and very little through traffic on the side streets, which is part of why people move here and part of why a moving truck needs a plan.

Many Ross houses sit well back from the road behind lawns, gardens or a gate. The truck may stop a long way from the front door, so the carry distance is the first thing we measure.
Older homes often have formal staircases, original wood floors and doorways that were never meant for a modern sectional. Big pieces come apart, and railings and floors get covered before anything moves.
Smaller houses close to the center of town sit on tighter lots, closer to the street, with one or two steps up to a porch. These are often the quickest Ross moves.
Higher up, houses are built into the slope with steps from the parking area to the entry and decks off the back. Stairs, not square footage, usually set the crew size here.
Ross streets are pleasant to drive and harder to park on. What we check before the date:
A lot of Ross moves happen around a house that is being remodeled or sold: the family moves out for the work and back in later, or downsizes from a large property into something smaller in Larkspur, Corte Madera or San Rafael. Packing and storage covers the time in between, with storage at a flat monthly price.
Houses this size often hold art, antiques, a piano or a wine collection. Tell us about each piece up front, and see packing services and piano movers. Moves to Kentfield, San Anselmo and the rest of Marin are handled by our local moving crews.
We charge by the hour, with a 3-hour minimum: 2 movers at $145, 3 movers at $175 and 4 movers at $235, plus packing materials only if we use them. A full house on a large lot with a long carry is usually a 3 or 4 mover job, while a small cottage near town can be done by 2.
Moving blankets, tape, wardrobe boxes, floor and banister protection, and furniture disassembly and reassembly come with every full-service move. Framed art and mirrors can be boxed by the crew. The moving cost guide shows what adds hours, like a long walk from the truck, and what saves them.

Kentfield wraps around Ross to the east and south, San Anselmo is just north along Sir Francis Drake, Larkspur is a few minutes toward the bay, and San Rafael is over the hill to the northeast.

Usually yes. If low branches, a tight turn or the width of the lane will not take a full-size truck, we bring a smaller one and shuttle loads between it and the house.
If the truck has to stand in the street, the Town of Ross sets the rules. Give us your address and date and we check what applies before move day.
$145 an hour for 2 movers, $175 for 3 movers and $235 for 4 movers, with a 3-hour minimum, plus any packing materials used.
No, it just adds carry time. Tell us roughly how far the front door is from where a truck can stop, and we size the crew so the walk does not drag out the day.
Yes. We pack and load the house, keep everything in storage at a flat monthly price, and bring it back when the work is done.
