Walnut Creek Movers, Downtown to Rossmoor

Walnut Creek sits where Highway 24 meets I-680, at the foot of Mount Diablo. Within its limits are really three kinds of place. Downtown, around Broadway Plaza, Main Street and the BART station, is condos, townhomes and apartment buildings with elevators. The residential neighborhoods spread east up Ygnacio Valley Road and Oak Grove Road toward the state park: Northgate, Parkmead, Tice Valley, Saranap and the streets around Heather Farm. And south of town, off Tice Valley Boulevard and Rossmoor Parkway, is Rossmoor, a gated 55-plus community with its own rules.

Moving trucks need to be expected, and the community or your building manager may ask for a certificate of insurance. We issue COIs free; send us the management name, mailing address and email. Rossmoor has a mix of building types, some with elevators and some without, so tell us which you have. Downsizing into a smaller unit is common, so it helps to decide early which furniture fits and which goes to family, storage or donation.

Downtown condo moves are about the elevator and the loading spot. Book both with the building, and know that time spent waiting for an elevator is part of the job time. The city's Traffic Engineering group reviews temporary parking restrictions, so if your building has no loading zone, ask us early and we will look at the curb with you.

Out in Northgate and Parkmead, homes are mostly single-story ranch and split-level houses from the 1960s and 70s on level or gently sloping lots. These load from the driveway. Up toward the Mount Diablo foothills, lots get larger and steeper, and so do the carries.

Between mid-July and late October 2026 we received 4 quote requests from Walnut Creek, not counting account work, and 2 of them booked or completed. Where a size was given it was a studio or a one-bedroom. Three were local moves and one was long distance.

Walnut Creek is about 40 miles north of downtown San Jose, straight up I-680 through the Tri-Valley and Danville. We do not bill for that drive. Our morning East Bay arrival window is 9 to 11 AM, and the crew calls 30 minutes ahead. Because the city sits on two freeways, commute hours matter: a move between Walnut Creek and Lafayette or Concord is short off-peak, but if the two addresses end up more than 10 minutes apart, the drive between them is billed at double time per California rules.

A studio or one-bedroom condo can go with two movers at $145 an hour if the move is very small or you prefer it, but three movers at $175 is our standard. A ranch house over 1,800 square feet with three bedrooms, or any four-bedroom home, gets four movers at $235. Each job has a three-hour minimum and then bills in 15-minute steps, at one rate every day of the week.
