Hillside homes above the boulevard, condos near the creek, and one of the busiest interchanges in Marin right next door. Answers to the questions people ask before a Greenbrae move.
Call toll free1-877-417-6060In central Marin, at the spot where Sir Francis Drake Boulevard meets US 101. Kentfield is to the west, Larkspur to the south, and San Rafael is north and east across the hills and the freeway. Greenbrae shares ZIP 94904 with Kentfield.
Corte Madera Creek and its marshes run along the south side, and Bon Air Road crosses the creek toward Larkspur.
Because most moves in or out of Greenbrae go through it. Sir Francis Drake carries the traffic of the whole Ross Valley to US 101 here, and it gets heavy at commute hours in both directions. Being close to the freeway is a big help, as long as the truck is not trying to get on at 8 in the morning.
Single-family homes on the hills north of the boulevard, many on sloped lots with split levels and steps to the entry, along streets that curve up the hillside. Closer to Bon Air Road and the creek there are condos, townhomes and apartment buildings.
It depends on the address. Some streets are under the City of Larkspur and others are Marin County roads. If the truck needs to hold curb space, we check which rules apply to your street.
Many do: set move hours, elevator reservations, a loading area and sometimes a certificate of insurance. Ask your HOA or manager early, and send us the wording for the COI.
On the main streets, a full-size truck. On the tighter hillside streets we sometimes use a smaller truck so it can park and turn safely.

Greenbrae sits where several central Marin communities meet, and a move here often starts or ends in one of them:
| Area | Typical homes | Route | Planning focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Greenbrae | Hillside homes, condos near the creek | Sir Francis Drake at US 101 | Interchange traffic, HOA rules |
| Kentfield | Valley homes, Kent Woodlands hillsides | Sir Francis Drake, west | Winding roads, county rules |
| Larkspur | Downtown homes, canyon houses | Magnolia Avenue or US 101 | Narrow canyon lanes |
| Corte Madera | Family homes, hillside streets | US 101, south | Freeway timing, hill streets |
| San Rafael | Houses, condos and apartments | US 101, north | Downtown curb space |

Greenbrae moves are billed hourly with a 3-hour minimum: a 2-mover team is $145 an hour, 3 movers $175 and 4 movers $235, plus packing materials only when used. A condo with an elevator is often a 2-mover job, while a hillside house with stairs to the entry usually goes faster with 3.
Moving blankets, tape, wardrobe boxes, floor protection and furniture disassembly and reassembly are included. Art and mirrors can be boxed by the crew. See the moving cost guide, or long-distance moving if you are leaving California.
Kentfield is just west along Sir Francis Drake, Larkspur borders Greenbrae to the south, Corte Madera is a few minutes down US 101, and San Rafael is just north.
