Across the whole country
Along with Texas and New York, Florida is one of the long-distance destinations our customers ask about most. One example: a customer we had moved locally from Hayward to Vallejo came back the next year for a one-bedroom move to South Florida. They asked us to hold the shipment until the new apartment was ready, then told us when to send it. Store first, deliver later is easy to plan on a Florida move.
Store now, deliver later
Florida moves often depend on a closing date, a lease start or a seasonal move. We can pick up your home, keep it in our climate-controlled storage, and deliver when you are ready. Storage is billed flat monthly in 30-day periods and is never discounted. Ask for the current monthly rate for your shipment's weight when you get your estimate.
How the move is priced
Interstate moves are priced by weight: the estimated weight, a rate per pound and a minimum space reservation. Overload is billed at the same rate. The estimate is non-binding; the final price follows the actual weight and any extra services, such as stairs beyond the first flight, a long carry over 100 feet, an elevator or a shuttle at the Florida address. A reserved truck at a binding flat fee is the alternative when dates matter more than flexibility.

Rounded map estimates. Typical transit to the East Coast is 10 to 14 days, within a 30-day policy window from your first available date.
Florida deliveries
South Florida condos often have elevator reservations and set delivery hours, and gated communities need gate instructions. Tell us about the building when you book. If you have specialty pieces, like an armoire, china cabinet or art, mention them so they are wrapped and listed properly on the inventory. Basic valuation is $0.60 per pound per article; full value protection is available through Baker International (bakerintl.com, mover ID 17421).
What the price includes
Loading and unloading, disassembly and reassembly, moving blankets, labeling and an inventory list, and all mileage, tax and tolls. No weekend fees. Unpacking is not included.
Payment
You pay 50% at pickup and 50% at delivery, by cash, money order, Visa or Mastercard, with a 3% fee on cards. Returning customers and real-estate-agent referrals get 7% off the final price, and friend referrals 5%.
Hurricane season and timing
Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November. A storm near your delivery date can delay a long-haul truck, which is one more reason to keep flexible dates on a weight-based move, or to reserve the truck with guaranteed dates if you cannot be flexible. Keep important papers, medication and valuables with you rather than on the truck.
