Is it cheaper to buy my own boxes than pay for a package?
It can be, but in most homes it is not. You are always welcome to bring your own boxes and stay on the standard hourly rate. In most homes, though, once you add up mattress covers, wrapping paper, bubble wrap, dish packs and TV boxes, buying everything separately ends up costing more than a package would.

The longer answer
How to come out ahead either way
- Pack what you can in your own sturdy boxes and tape them shut.
- Leave the awkward pieces (TVs, mirrors, mattresses) for the crew if you do not have the right materials.
- At the end, we total the standard bill with supplies used and compare it with the Silver or Golden price for the same hours.
- Whichever is lower is the one you can choose.
What your boxes need to be
Any box you provide should be strong enough to stack and closed on top. We do not move loose items in plastic bags, because they collapse in a stack and hide breakables. Grocery-store boxes with no lids, or bags of shoes and toys, will need to be repacked before loading. Details on the materials we carry are on the packing services page, and the cost guide covers rates.
More questions people ask
Can I mix my own boxes with yours?
Yes. Use your own for whatever you pack, and the crew bills only the supplies it opens for the rest.
Are used boxes OK?
Used boxes are fine if they are still rigid, dry and can be sealed closed. Soft or torn ones should be replaced.
Do I lose anything by skipping the package?
No. You can still compare at the end, so bringing your own boxes never locks you out of a package price.
