Moving at The Residences at The St. Regis San Francisco

Short answer

The Residences at The St. Regis San Francisco use the residential entrance at 188 Minna Street in SoMa. Like most SoMa towers, it wants a certificate of insurance from your mover before the move goes on the calendar.

Spartan Moving's certificate was reissued to the Residences in June 2026, and in August 2026 the residence concierge confirmed in writing that it met the building's requirement. Since it is already on file, you are not starting that paperwork from scratch.

The longer answer

How a move here comes together

  1. Get the building's move policy. Ask the residence concierge for the current move rules: allowed days and hours, how the service elevator is reserved, any deposit, and where the truck should load.
  2. Confirm the certificate. Tell us your move date and unit. If management wants a new certificate naming the date or additional insureds, send us the details and we request it at no charge.
  3. Settle the truck spot. Minna Street is a narrow SoMa street. If the building does not provide a loading area, SFMTA temporary no-parking signs reserve curb space; they generally have to be posted about 72 hours ahead.
  4. Move morning. The crew lays floor protection from the unit to the elevator, and furniture is wrapped in moving blankets in the unit.
  5. Make the most of the elevator. Anything that needs to come apart is taken apart in the unit and staged near the elevator, so each trip down goes full.

Arrival and timing

Our morning arrival window in San Francisco is 9 to 11 AM, and the crew calls 30 minutes before arriving. If your elevator reservation starts at a set time, tell us when you book so we can plan the day around it.

What it costs

You pay by the hour for the whole crew and the truck: $145 for 2 movers, $175 for 3, $235 for 4. There is a 3-hour minimum, then billing runs in 15-minute steps, plus any packing materials you use. Weekends cost the same as weekdays. Blankets, tape, wardrobe boxes, floor protection and taking furniture apart and putting it back together are all included. One thing to know in a tower: waiting for the elevator is part of the job time, so a firm reservation keeps the bill down.

Insurance and valuation

Our certificate shows general liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, auto liability of $1,000,000, cargo of $100,000 and workers' compensation of $1,000,000. Your belongings carry free basic valuation at $0.60 per pound per article. For full-value protection on fine furniture or art, coverage can be bought directly from Baker International (bakerintl.com) with our account ID 17421.

Spartan Moving Systems is an independent moving company and is not affiliated with the building, its owners or its management. Building rules change; always confirm the current move policy with management.
