What happens if it rains on moving day?
Moves go ahead in the rain. Furniture is blanket-wrapped and floors are protected. If you prefer, ask to switch to another open date at the same rate.
We still move
Rain does not cancel a move. Bay Area showers are usually short, and the crew works through them. Furniture is wrapped in moving blankets, floors are covered, and the truck is loaded quickly. If you would rather wait for a dry day, you can ask about moving your date.

Your part on a wet day
- Tape every box closed on top and bottom; open or overfilled boxes are the ones that suffer
- Keep electronics, documents and photos in sealed boxes, never bags
- Lay old towels by both doors
- Save curb space as close to the entrance as you can
- Clear a dry staging spot inside, like the garage or entry
Rugs that are rolled and wrapped travel fine, but a rug left loose on a wet path will soak up water quickly.

Changing the date for weather
If the forecast looks bad and your dates are flexible, call or text and ask what is open. If there is space on the schedule, you can move to a drier day. Our rates are the same every day of the week, so switching from a Saturday to a Sunday does not change the price. Planning around the seasons? Will you cancel my move if it rains?
No. We move in the rain. Changing the date is your choice, not ours.
Is there a fee to reschedule because of rain?
Tell us as early as you can. David will let you know which dates are open and confirm the change.
Do rainy days take longer?
Sometimes a little, since the crew takes care on wet steps and ramps. Time is billed the same way as any other day.
Do you cover the mattress in the rain?
Mattresses can go into a sealed plastic cover, $15 each or included with the Silver Package, so it stays clean and dry from the bedroom to the truck.
