The same crew packs and carries
With us, the people who pack your kitchen are the people who load the truck. There is no separate packing company, no packing fee on top, and no deciding in advance. You pick how much help you want, the crew works at your hourly rate, and at the end of the move we work out the bill both ways and you pay the lower one.
Three ways to handle packing
| You pack | Silver | Golden | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Added to the hourly rate | Nothing | +$35/hr | +$70/hr |
| Blankets, tape, wardrobe boxes | Included | Included | Included |
| Mattress covers | $15 each | Included | Included |
| TV boxes | Up to $50 each | Included | Included |
| Mirrors, large frames, glass tops | Supplies as used | Included | Included |
| Packing dishes, books, closets, every loose item | You do it | You do it | Labor and all supplies included |
What the packages cost per hour
| Crew | Standard | With Silver | With Golden |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 movers | $175 | $210 | $245 |
| 4 movers | $235 | $270 | $305 |
The package rate applies to the entire job time, including the drive, not only the hours spent packing. On the 3-hour minimum, Silver adds $105 and Golden $210.
Example: a three-mover Golden move billed at 7 hours is 7 x $245 = $1,715, with no separate bill for boxes, paper, bubble wrap or dish packs. Without a package, the same hours would be 7 x $175 = $1,225 plus every box and cover used, and plus your own time packing.
What Bay Area customers chose in 2026
Of the quotes we wrote from mid-July to late October 2026 that named a package, Golden outnumbered Silver roughly three to one. When people want packing help, they mostly want the whole home done.
Partial packing and two-day moves
Not ready to hand over the whole home? The crew can pack only the rooms you choose, often the kitchen, a china cabinet or a wall of books, at the regular hourly rate with supplies as used, and you can still choose Silver at the end. For a larger home with full packing, splitting the job into a packing day and a moving day keeps moving day short and lets you live in the home while it is packed; see two-day moves.
Before the packers arrive
- Set aside what travels with you: documents, medication, jewelry, chargers.
- Empty the refrigerator; food does not go on the truck.
- Gather anything that stays behind or goes to donation in one place.
- Point out heirlooms, art and anything fragile to the foreman.
- Liquids travel only sealed, upright and boxed; anything that might leak stays behind. Loose items go in boxes, not plastic bags.
At the new home
Furniture is placed where you want it and beds, tables and other pieces are put back together on every move. Unpacking boxes is optional and billed at the same hourly rate: one room, just the kitchen, or every box.
Questions and answers
Do I have to choose Silver or Golden when I book?
No. We run the numbers both ways at the end of the move and you pick the total you prefer.
Does the package rate apply to the drive too?
Yes. Silver and Golden are added to every hour of the job, including drive time.
Can you pack only my kitchen?
Yes. Partial packing is billed at your regular hourly rate with supplies as used.
Do you unpack?
If you want. Unpacking is billed at the same hourly rate. Furniture reassembly is always included.
Do you sell boxes?
Yes. The truck carries boxes and other supplies, charged as used. Wardrobe boxes are included on a full-service move.
