Business movers for small Bay Area offices, studios and clinics
Business movers in the Bay Area for small offices, studios and clinics. Hourly crew rates, same price on weekends, and a free COI for every building.
Built for the size of most Bay Area businesses
Most businesses that call us are small: a ten-desk office changing floors, a design studio moving across town, a dental or therapy practice relocating to a new suite, a shop moving its back room, a company clearing an office into storage. These moves look a lot like a household move with more desks and stricter buildings, and we run them the same way: our own crew, a 26-foot truck, hourly pricing and a free certificate of insurance for each building.
What we move, and what we leave to others
| Who handles it | |
|---|---|
| Desks, conference tables, shelving: take apart and rebuild | Our crew, included |
| Wrapping furniture, floor protection | Our crew, included |
| Boxed files, supplies and equipment | Our crew |
| Packing each desk and labeling it | Your staff, or our crew at the hourly rate |
| Disconnecting and reconnecting computers, servers, network and phones | Your IT person or vendor |
| Configuring networks | Not us; we are a mover, not an IT company |
How business moves are priced
The same hourly rates as a home move, for the whole crew and the truck: 3 movers $175 an hour, 4 movers $235, with a 3-hour minimum and 15-minute steps after that. Saturday and Sunday cost the same as Tuesday, which is why many offices move over a weekend. Elevator waiting is billed as job time, so a reserved freight elevator saves money. Packing supplies are charged as used. A free on-site inspection gives you a not-to-exceed price for the job.
Payment is by cash, money order, Visa or Mastercard, with a 3% card fee. If the company needs an invoice or billing through an account, ask when you book; David sets billing arrangements case by case.
What the building will ask for
- A certificate of insurance, often naming the building and the management company. We provide it free; send the management company name, mailing address and email, as early as you can.
- Allowed move hours, especially on weekends.
- A freight elevator reservation and its time limit.
- Loading dock or curb access for a 26-foot truck, about 40 feet with the ramp. If access is tight, David checks it before the day.
- Floor and wall protection rules in common areas.
Clinics, studios and shops
Medical and dental suites: exam chairs and large equipment are often bolted, plumbed or wired in. Have the vendor disconnect them first, and send a photo of anything around 300 lb or more so David can confirm the approach. Studios: art, framed work and large mirrors travel best boxed; the Silver package covers the boxes and wrapping for those pieces for $35 an hour added to the rate. Shops and back rooms: stock goes in sealed boxes, not bags, and shelving comes apart for the truck.
Moving an office into storage
Downsizing to remote work or waiting on a new lease? We load the office and keep everything in climate-controlled storage at a flat fee for each 30-day period, never discounted, and deliver when the new space is ready. See moving and storage.

Questions and answers
Do you charge more for weekend office moves?
No. The rate is the same every day, and we work Sundays.
Do you disconnect our computers and servers?
No. Your IT person or vendor disconnects and reconnects equipment. We move it once it is unplugged and boxed.
Can you invoice the company?
Ask when you book. David sets billing arrangements for companies case by case.
Do filing cabinets need to be emptied?
Yes. Box the files in drawer order before the move. Full cabinets are heavy and files slip behind the drawers when a cabinet is tilted.
Is a certificate of insurance extra?
No. COIs are free. We need the management company name, mailing address and email.
