Will the movers call before they arrive?
Every crew calls before showing up. On moving day you get a call roughly half an hour before the truck reaches your pickup address, so you can finish your coffee, move the car out of the driveway, or head down to meet them. If someone else will be on site, we can call that person instead.

Having someone else take the call
Plenty of our customers are at work, at the new place, or out of state while the move happens. A spouse, a parent, a roommate or the property manager can be the contact. Send us that person's name and phone number and we update the work order, so the foreman has the right number before leaving in the morning. You can change it again during the final confirmation three days before the move.
What to tell the driver on that call
- Where the truck should park, and any spot you have already saved
- Which entrance, loading dock or side gate to use
- Gate codes, buzzer numbers or who will let them in
- Any hazards on the street, like a steep driveway or low branches
- Whether the elevator is reserved and padded
The truck needs roughly 40 feet of curb for itself and the ramp, so a clear parking plan is the most useful thing you can share. Our moving checklist covers how to prepare the curb and the building.
