What 40 feet of curb means for you
AThe truck itself is long, and the loading ramp extends from the back, so plan on about two regular car lengths of open curb. One reserved spot of that size is all we need, as close to your entrance as the street allows, since a shorter walk means less time on the hourly bill.
In San Francisco, when there is truly no legal place to stop, a temporary permit can be processed through SFMTA. Without one, any double-parking citation the truck receives is added to the bill, as stated in your quote.
Tell us in advance if
A- Your street is very narrow, steep, or has low wires or branches
- The building has a loading dock with height or length limits
- Access is down a long private driveway
- There is a gate, a low carport or a tight turn the truck must clear
David checks the address on Google Maps before moving day and lets you know if a shuttle is needed. A shuttle adds a rental truck and labor, so it is worth sorting out early. Read more on local moving, and for out-of-state shipments see long distance moving.
