Is there a fee for an extra stop on a local move?
No. Spartan charges no fee for extra stops on local moves, only the added time. Share each address so we can update your work order.
Do you charge per stop?
No, we do not charge a per-stop fee on local moves.
Should I tell you about the stop ahead of time?
Yes, send the address when you book or as soon as you know, so it goes on the work order and the crew plans the route.
Does a stop restart the minimum?
No, the 3-hour minimum applies once to the whole job.

No stop fee
There is no extra charge for an additional stop on a local move. The stop simply adds whatever time it takes, at your normal hourly rate. Send us the extra address so we can add it to your work order.
What a stop actually costs you
Since we only bill time, a stop costs what it takes to drive there and to load or unload. A quick pickup of a few boxes on the way might add very little. A detour across town adds more. Any leg between stops that runs longer than 10 minutes falls under California's double drive time rule, the same as the main drive.
| Type of stop | What it adds |
|---|---|
| On the way, short load | A small amount of time |
| Out of the way | Drive time plus loading, possibly doubled |
| Drop part of the load at storage | Unloading time at that stop |
Example: home plus storage unit to a new home
- The crew loads your current home.
- They drive to your storage unit and load what is inside.
- They drive to the new home and unload everything.
You pay for the time on site at each place and the drives between them. No separate charge applies for the storage visit itself. Our storage page covers storage options if you need somewhere to keep things.
Making extra stops go smoothly
- List every address and the order you want them visited
- Note gate codes, elevators or loading zones at each stop
- Tell us what is coming from or going to each place
- Have someone available to open a storage unit or building
A clear plan saves real time, because the crew is not waiting at a locked gate or hunting for the right unit while the clock runs. If a stop is only for a couple of items, mention that too, since it helps us plan how the truck is loaded. For more on how time is billed, see the moving cost guide.
