Can my move be split over two days?
Yes. Spartan can pack one day and move the next, or split a move into separate sessions. It stays one job; each local day is paid at the end of that day.
Yes, one job over two days
Yes. We treat a two-day move as one job with two working sessions. You pay for each day's time when that day wraps up, and both days need an opening on our calendar, so it helps to ask early.
Common ways to split a move
| Setup | Day one | Day two |
|---|---|---|
| Pack, then move | Our crew packs the home | Load, drive, unload |
| Two destinations | House contents to the new home | Remaining items to storage |
| Safety net | The full move | A reserved backup day in case the job runs long |
The pack-first option pairs well with our packing services, since boxes are sealed and labeled before the moving crew arrives.
How billing works across two days
Each local session is billed hourly for the time actually worked, plus any supplies used that day, and settled at the end of that session. You are not paying for day two in advance. If the backup day turns out to be unnecessary, tell us and it comes off the schedule.
Each day also has its own morning arrival window, based on where the work starts, and the crew calls 30 minutes ahead both mornings.
When a second day makes sense
- Large homes with a lot of packing to do
- A gap between move-out and move-in, with some items going to storage
- Tight building rules that limit elevator hours per day
- Homes where the access or volume makes a single-day finish uncertain
Tell David the size of the home and what you want packed, and he will suggest whether one day or two fits better for your residential move.

Questions and answers
Is a two-day move billed as two separate jobs?
No. It is one job with two sessions, and each local day is paid when it ends.
Can you pack one day and move the next?
Yes. Packing one day and moving the next is a common split, and it keeps moving day short and focused.
Do I have to pay for the backup day if we finish early?
No. You only pay for time worked; an unused backup day is simply released.
Will the arrival time be the same both days?
Each day gets its own morning window, and the crew calls before arriving each time.
