Can you pack artwork and large framed pictures?
Yes. Large frames are standard for us: each piece is wrapped in bubble wrap and paper, then boxed in a specialty picture box. Silver covers it.

Large canvases and framed pictures are standard work for our crew. We carry specialty picture boxes, and every piece is wrapped in bubble wrap and wrapping paper before it goes inside. The materials are billed as used, or they are part of the Silver Package if you choose it at the end.
What happens to each piece
A- The crew wraps the front and frame in wrapping paper, which keeps bubble wrap from marking the surface.
- A layer of bubble wrap goes around the whole piece, with corners padded.
- It slides into a picture box sized to fit, and the box is sealed.
- Boxed art rides on edge in the truck, never flat under other items.
Protection for valuable work
A| Coverage | What it means |
|---|---|
| Basic valuation (free) | State standard of 60 cents per pound, per article; this is valuation, not insurance |
| Full value through Baker International | Your own policy, bought at bakerintl.com using our mover ID 17421 |
A painting weighs little, so basic valuation pays very little relative to its worth. If a piece matters to you financially, look into full-value coverage before moving day. A quick photo of each important piece before packing is also a sensible record to have.
Getting your walls ready
ALeave the art on the wall if you are unsure how it is hung; the crew can take it down. Make a list of the pieces that matter most and show the foreman when the team arrives, so they are packed first and placed where you want them at the new home. Keep the hanging hardware in a labeled bag taped to the back of each box. Moving an office or gallery collection? Start with corporate relocation. Questions and answers
QDo I need my own picture boxes?
No. The crew brings picture boxes and wrap on the truck.
QIs a very large canvas a problem?
Oversized pieces are normal for us. Mention the dimensions when you book so the right boxes are on board.
QDoes the free coverage protect expensive art?
Only at the state rate of 60 cents per pound for each article. For real value, full-value coverage through Baker International is the option.
