Can you move very heavy items like a safe or hot tub?
Often yes. For anything over about 300 lbs, send a photo first and David confirms whether we can move it and whether to add a mover.

Send a photo first
A
Many heavy pieces are fine for our crew, but anything around 300 pounds or more gets checked first. Send us a photo of the item and David will confirm whether our team can move it safely and whether your move needs an extra mover.
What to send with the photo
A- A clear picture of the item, plus one that shows where it sits now.
- The make and model, or the weight if you know it.
- Any stairs, narrow halls, gravel or slopes between the item and the street at both homes.
- Whether it is bolted down, plumbed in or wired in.
You can attach this to your quote request so it is reviewed with the rest of the move.
How David usually decides
A| Situation | Typical outcome |
|---|---|
| Heavy but movable by hand with a full team | Yes, sometimes with a 4th mover |
| Large piece with easy, level access | Usually fine after the photo review |
| Item that needs a flatbed or specialized rigging | We tell you and decline |
We have turned down items, such as a very heavy outdoor oven, when the right answer was a specialized hauler. Hearing no early beats a surprise on the day, and it leaves you time to book the right service.
Pianos are a separate case
APianos have their own crew rules, so they are not handled through the photo check the same way. See our piano movers page for details.
Heavy items and crew size
AQuestions and answers
QHow heavy is too heavy for movers?
There is no single cutoff, but around 300 pounds is where we ask for a photo so David can review it before the move.
QWill a heavy item raise my price?
Only through time and crew size. If David adds a mover, the hourly rate for the larger team applies.
QDo you move hot tubs?
Send a photo and the access details. Some can be handled by our team, others need a specialized service with a flatbed.
QShould I empty a safe before the move?
Taking out the contents makes it lighter and protects what is inside. Mention the safe and its size in your photo message so David can plan the crew.
