Can you move me from Sacramento to the Bay Area?
Yes. Sacramento to San Francisco and other Bay Area cities is priced hourly like a local move, with double drive time for the drive between.
Do you do local moves within Sacramento?
No. We only serve Sacramento for moves that come to the Bay Area or go farther.
Is the Sacramento drive charged twice?
Yes, the drive between the two homes counts double under the state double drive time rule.
Do I pay for the truck driving up to Sacramento?
No. Travel to your pickup and back from your drop-off is free.
Yes, we make that trip
Yes. We move households from the Sacramento area down to the Bay Area, including moves all the way to San Francisco and Treasure Island. What we do not offer is a local move that stays within Sacramento itself.
How it is priced
A Sacramento to Bay Area move is billed by the hour, just like a local job, with the same rates every day of the week:
| Crew | Hourly rate (team and truck) |
|---|---|
| 2 movers | $145 |
| 3 movers | $175 |
| 4 movers | $235 |
Because the two homes are far apart, California's double drive time rule applies: the drive from your Sacramento address to the Bay Area address counts twice, at the same hourly rate. There is no charge for our trip up to you or back from your new home. The 3-hour minimum applies, then time goes in 15-minute steps.
What helps David plan it
- Exact pickup and drop-off addresses, so the route is clear
- Home size and a list of large furniture
- Stairs, elevators or tight parking at either end
- Whether you need packing help
Double-check the destination on your request. If a Sacramento ZIP code ends up in the drop-off field, it looks like a move within Sacramento, which we would have to decline.
How long will it take?
Total time depends on how much you have, how well it is packed, access at both homes and traffic on the road. David reviews your details and gives you a realistic range before you book. For city destinations, our San Francisco movers page covers parking and building access. You can see every city we serve on service areas, and our long-distance page explains longer trips across California.
