Can movers take apart and reassemble a baby crib?
Our crew can disassemble a crib so it moves safely, and most cribs need to come apart to get through doorways and into the truck. Putting it back together is different: for liability reasons our team is not allowed to reassemble a crib by itself. If you are present and inspect it afterward, the crew can help put it together under your supervision and responsibility.

The longer answer
Why a crib is handled differently
A bed frame or dresser that is slightly off is an inconvenience. A crib that is assembled wrong is a safety issue for a baby, and only the parent can sign off that every rail, screw and mattress support is right. That is why the final check belongs to you and not to a moving crew, even an experienced one.
How it works on move day
- Find the instruction sheet, or look up the model online, and keep it handy.
- The crew takes the crib apart and bags all bolts and small parts together, labeled.
- Rails and panels are wrapped in moving blankets and loaded.
- At the new home, you stay with the crew while the crib is reassembled.
- You inspect every joint and the mattress height before the baby uses it.
Nursery tips for the day
- Pack a separate bag with the crib sheet, a blanket and the baby's sleep items so the first night is easy.
- Keep the crib mattress clean and covered during the move.
- Set the nursery up first if bedtime falls on move day.

Questions about furniture and being home
More questions people ask
Will movers put my baby's crib back together?
Only with you there. The crew can assist while you supervise, and you inspect the crib before it is used.
Is taking apart a crib an extra charge?
No. Disassembly is part of the service, and it is billed only as working time on the hourly move.
What if I cannot be home when the crib is unloaded?
The crew will bring the crib parts into the nursery, keep the hardware together, and leave reassembly for when you or a person you trust can supervise and check it.
Can I leave the crib in one piece?
Some small cribs fit through doors whole, but most must be taken apart. The foreman will decide based on its size and your doorways.
