Insurance is not the same as valuation

Our policies protect against things like accidents and injuries. Coverage for your belongings is a separate matter called valuation. Every move includes basic valuation free of charge, the state standard of 60 cents per pound for each article. If you want your items protected at their full value, you can buy a full value policy through Baker International at bakerintl.com using our mover ID 17421; that policy is your own, purchased directly. Valuation is not insurance, and it helps to decide which level you want before move day rather than after.

Ways to check us out

  • Look up our permit number with the California Public Utilities Commission and our US DOT number with the federal motor carrier database.
  • Ask for a certificate of insurance; send us your HOA or management company's name, mailing address and email and we submit the request to our insurance agent.
  • Read our Google reviews, rated 4.8 across 77 reviews.

Buildings and offices often require a COI for commercial moves and condo moves alike, and agents can find more on our real estate agents page. Our residential moving page covers the home side.

Coverage and paperwork questions

Questions and answers

Is your crew covered by workers' comp?

Yes. We carry workers' compensation with a $1M limit, covering the people who carry your furniture.

How much will you pay if something breaks?

Basic valuation, at 60 cents a pound per item, is included at no cost. Full value protection is available through Baker International if you want more.

Do you charge for a certificate of insurance?

No, a COI is free. We send it once our insurance agent has issued it.

How long has your team been moving together?

Our crew is our own team, not day labor. The team has been with Spartan since 2007, and the newest member joined in 2014.
