Are weekend moves more expensive than weekdays?

No, a weekend move costs the same as a weekday move with us. The hourly rate for your crew size is identical on Saturday, Sunday and every other day, so you can pick the date that suits your schedule rather than your budget.

The 3-hour minimum and the 15-minute billing after it work the same way whichever day you choose.

The price is the same, but demand is not. Saturdays and Sundays are usually the first dates to go, since that is when most people can step away from work. If your move has to land on a weekend, reach out as soon as you know your date. Our guide to the best time to move in the Bay Area covers the busier stretches of the year.

• The office answers 7 AM to 8 PM, every day of the week
• Crews run on Sundays too
• Arrival windows do not shift on weekends: 8-10 AM for the South Bay and Peninsula, 9-11 AM for San Francisco and the East Bay

Because there is no deposit on a local move, confirming a Saturday or Sunday costs nothing up front. To lock it in, send us:

• Your preferred date and a backup date if you have one
• Pickup and drop-off zip codes
• The size of the home in bedrooms and rough square footage
• Whether you plan to pack yourself or want help

We will reply with the rate and an arrival window, and the crew phones you about 30 minutes before reaching the door.

Choosing a Tuesday or Wednesday will not lower the rate, but it can make other things easier, such as booking a building elevator or finding open curb space for the truck. Weigh those practical points when you compare dates, and see the moving cost page for typical totals by home size.
